Shoulder Banshee from Disney Animal Kingdom
My imagination has gotten me a bit over my head. I would like to get this Shoulder Banshee to make a different noise. In the end it will be a totally different “animal”. The design only uses power to make the sound and it only makes one sound when the mouth is open. I am guessing the sound going to be read only so most likely you all are going to say it can not be reprogrammed. That being said is there a way to still make it sound different perhaps with a different chip. I might be sharing too much information but I don’t know what is relevant and what is not.

The controller has 3 things you move putting tension on the wire and making the part move. There is no electricity involved.
The #1 AND #2 is the pulley that moves the head side to side.
The #3 is what wire that makes the sings open and close
The #4 is the wire that makes the mouth open and makes the sound.
When tension is put on the #4 wire it pulls down the blue piece near the yellow arrow and the teal spiral lowers with it pulling down the jaw to open its mouth. The bottom metal of the pole near the green arrow pushes the metal piece to make the circle complete and activate the power.

There's a zillion different sound generator boards out there. Decide what sound you want and buy one, or buy a recorder and put your own noises into it.

The black blob is almost certainly a custom ic and cannot be modified, programmed nor replaced. 761460R1 is not recognized as a standard part. That whole board is a custom component and unlikely able to be replaced. You’d have to find a sound module with exactly the same connections.

 

Thank you so much for your quick response. I might just end up disconnecting the sound. It is such a small area I don't know if I would be able to find something totally different to fit.

Thank you for your response. I am going to look around and see if I can figure out how I would take out the old and put in another. I am not sure how the wires would coincide with the orginial. My understanding is that board was made just for the Banshee. It is so difficult, I have a vision and just can't make it work. I guess worse scenario it does not have sound.
