Some years ago I heard he was going to corner the market on shredding old vehicle tires and spent a fortune building a super sized tire shredder complete with a huge diesel engine from a large tugboat to power it.

Worked great during the test run except he apparently did not calculate that huge diesel engines burn incredible amounts of fuel which pretty much made his whole endeavor a loss.

Operating cost (mostly due to miss calculated fuel consumption) was apparently equal to or slightly above the maximum profit he could realistically ever get with his design.
