Anyone know if there's a standard color code for a serial cable (9 pin)? I spliced one open and I've got:

Purple
Green
Orange
Blue
Red
White
Yellow
Brown
Grey

There's also a bare wire in there. Anyhow I'm looking for ground(5) and DTR(4). I'm thinking it's red and green, but just curious if anyone knew for sure. Any help is appreciated.

The internal wiring color is uncontrolled. You need to go from the connector pins to each wire to correctly identify the function.

On second look, the colors do seem to go with the pin numbers. Brown should be pin 1, white should be 9, and the others follow standard color code.
