so i am using a NEMA 17 to push a ring from stack of 10 rings( Lowest ring ). Weight of the ring is around 100g and diameter is of 20 cm the problem is that I am not getting enough torque to return back to original position and even the required speed that I need. the motor driver I am using is TB660 it my first time to work with a NEMA motor . And the movement of motor shaft is restricted to 0-90 degree. I will attach a proper photo of setup soon.

NEMA is not a motor power rating, it indicates mounting frame size and dimension.
NEMA range sized motors can posses a range of torque/power ratings.

 

Reduction gearbox? So the motor does many turns for the output 90 deg. Will increase output torque.
Or reduction toothed belt drive.

A boost converter may increase the supply voltage. Unfortunately, the available power output is reduced.

The CORRECT way to run a stepper motor is maintain the rated coil current throughout the whole RPM range of the motor!
This is a function of the drive, NOT the power supply.
