I built a project based around an arduino controlled fotek solid state relay, and hired a welder to have a case made from stainless steel. But when I received it back the case is 10 mm too small for the relay breadth, width and length are fine. I have sufficient length to fit a relay twice as long. I bought an omron mechanical relay rated at 10 amps but I don't think it will last as I need to run 2.5kw through it. So does anyone know anyone who makes a long relay or point me to a circuit to make my own. I don't need pwm or dimmer, simple on/ off is fine.
edit. the 2.5kw load is a water heater coil so entirely resistive.

 

What is the length, width, and height available in the case for an SSR or relay?

I think that could work for me, but I don't know would heatsinking be an issue due to the small size.
