Hey, I'm looking to scratch build an MP3 player into a 2oz tobacco tin, I have searched around and not found anything like what I'm thinking of so am after some advice please, as I work in an electronics factory I have good soldering skills but lack on circuit design haha, my aims are to have:

  • MP3 + as many other codecs playable as possible.
  • Small screen to display track ID ect.
  • Built in headphone amp similar to CMoy pockets amps and RA1 clones.
  • Read from microsd card.
  • Play, next, back, and shuffle buttons.
  • Volume controlled via a pot (like on CMoy amps).
  • Run of a Li-Poly or Li-ion battery and have built in charge circuit.
  • Fit in a 2oz tobacco tin.
  • High quality audio sound out the other end ;).
Any advice here would be great as to what IC's are best and how to design the circuit.

Thanks!

Kr4g.

Hi, welcome to the forum,
I think there is a contradiction in terms, MP3 and high quality audio, you can have one or the other but together? no.
