Why is it the good websites die so young?

I understand that priorities change in people's lives, but I can't help feel a bit sad that there are so many projects which are left unfinished, undocumented on the internet.

We should try to remember to store as much useful information as we can about our projects. You never know what someone will find useful, or interesting, or inspiring.

There are lots of examples of websites where the "next update" never came.

Been there, done that.

My first μP project was probably an RCA1802.

Built MC6809, MC6805, MC68000 systems from scratch. HW, SW and my own assemblers.

Then when MCUs came along there was not much point in building bus systems.

Worked on HC05, HC11, MSP430, AVR, PICs, MC9S08, DSP56F807.

The latest is STM32F407 and Raspberry Pi.

The thing to remember is that we all have to go sometime and when we do go our dreams go with us. What ever you worked on will be assigned to the dustbin. When I go there there will be a lot of unfinished projects for sure.

Totally agree, which I why I think it is important that we try to put as much information online for those left behind.
