Hello,

I would like to perform two-channel communication over RF, which would be stable and reliable when used in woods. I don't think a range of more than 50m would be needed, but forestation and terrain may vary. I tried utilizing some cheap ebay RF modules and connected them to uC, but while communication was stable in an apartment, ie., connection was awfull in the woods.
How should I approach this problem? I thought of ordering RF transmitter and reciever modules from farnell, but how to choose modules which would work in these conditions?

Thanks

What frequency did the good-in-apartment/crappy-in-the-woods version of your project run on?
