Ring circuits are probably the worse thing on this planet!
A system where each half of the ring is rated to half of the total demand of the full system. If one side of the ring circuit disconnects then suddenly that half takes the entire demand and can become a serious fire hazards. As far as I am aware, ring circuits are one of the top contributors to house fires in the UK.

 

Isn´t it weird that you ask about RMU in one thread, but explain it four minutes before that in another thread? Something´s fishy...
