hello everybody,
I need to know about a low-range RFID chip (about 5 meters) to transmit data to a receiver that is interfaced to the parallel port of a PC.
So, I need to know a sender chip's name, as well as a receiver chip's name.
How can I send and receive data using these chips? because I think that they transmit data serially, so should I give them serial or parallel data? and if parallel how many bits at a time??
thnx n advance :)

Thnx for your reply man,
I made some changes, I just need the range to be around 50cm to read RFID cards, and I'm looking for ready chips to read the cards.

Omron and STmicro both make devices for RFID. You may not like the prices. TI-RFid has quite a line, too. Check Digi-Key for chips & prices.
