You have to find the power required for the motor, in order to use a supply/wall wart capable of running it.
The PWM control, either ebay or self built will supply the variable speed.
Max.
Max for this i dont think i am going to bother with variable speed. This motor is just a little bit bigger than a motor i have here from an older remote control car. Since i have the whole gear box it is pretty much good to go, i just need to know how to power it. I tested it on one of my cordless drill batteries, but i have no idea how it is supposed to be powered, and could use another diagram of how to wire it for forward reverse. If I found the exact specs would you be able to tell me how to power it?

ok so try it on 12v then
im embarrassed to say i have no idea how to get 12v to this motor dave? I want to plug it in so i have constant power but Im not sure how to do it? I dont want to blow the motor etc...i only tested the motor on a cordless drill battery, so now that its good to go, i need to do some permanant wiring.

just did some more looking around and i think it might even be a 6 volt.
can i power this motor the same way i powered my drill? Thats what ive meant in the last few messages, im not sure if i can power the motor that way or i need some sort of "limiter" or "reducer" or something? a wall wart etc? Help! lol

The two leads red and blk coming out of the motor are connected direct to the battery, reverse them to reverse the rotation using the double pole double throw switch.
If you want to control RPM then you will need something like I linked to before off ebay, a 555 PWM controller using a pot.

Im going to try it without the speed control Max, but can i wire this right to a 120v household plug like the drill? thats what i really need an answer on.

Dunno mate, we dont call em that in the UK, funny people you yanks, lol....
Actually we are both Canadian!;)

ok thanks, I tried to ask that a few posts back but I dont think you guys knew what i was asking :p
I meant use the auto battery just to try it as you were not sure how to hook it up.
You do get the odd Wall-Wart that is AC, but not often, for motor use I would see if you can get one of the older W.W.'s as they are linear supplies and a little more rugged, you can usually tell by the weight, they are much heavier.
