He was the only person to fly to the moon twice and not land.

His Apollo 13 crewmate, Fred Haise (now 91), is the only remaining Apollo astronaut to have flown to the moon without landing.

Of the 24 humans that have flown beyond Earth orbit, only five are still alive: Haise (91), Schmitt (90), Duke (89), Scott (93), and Aldrin (95). The last four are the only remaining moon-walkers.

We appear to be right at, or perhaps slightly greater, than the 95th percentile projection. That probably reflects the fact that astronauts were not chosen at random and tended to be in extremely good physical health at the time, which is at least somewhat indicative of their likely longevity barring unnatural deaths.

Aside from their good physical health at the time, I think another factor for their longevity is that they are people with healthy habits and a strong and steady discipline at maintaining them.
