Ongoing experiment ,the moth has not moved for 2 plus hours ,my dependable

peanut butter cracker crumbs are not attracting enough ants at this time. Don't

know when the moths daytime clock will kick in. The moth was touched and it moved,

before it flew away ,its wings were vibrating at a high rate of speed, no more moth.

 

The reason they vibrate their wings is to warm up their muscles before they (the muscles) do serious work. Some things are universal.

 

Loosewire, if Takao21203 was still hanging around, maybe you and him could get a new forum opened here. You with beetles, ants and moths, him with spiders and pill bugs. Or you could grow moths to feed his spiders?

@ Shortbus ,some insects you don't have worry about ,we are in the tropics so we

get a lots of insects. WE don't have to worry about heating oil. I do remember the 50

gallon drums laid on a rack with tubing going inside ,in N.C. also we had a basement

room just for coal. We had dibby gages to get a head start on spring chickens ,some

things sounds like home anywhere.

I'm a science buff. Something I read a long time ago, many insects have the ability to disconnect their wing muscles from their wings to allow warmup. Something like flies use serious energy for their body mass.

 

@ Joe Jester ,we must be the light sleepers amongst the guys. If you notice there no

24/7 news anymore. People guess ahead of time ,no real reporting or get ahead of

anyone with a scoop.

Tasty. Next time try putting the peanut butter and raisins on a stalk of celery. One of my favorite childhood snacks

 

Just make sure the raisins are really raisins.

I've been working, mostly. There are usually only two places you can find me--In the lab/shop, or at my home computer workstation. Sometimes I go for walks around the city, but that doesn't happen as often as I'd like.

Speaking of which, this Sunday is the second to last MIT electronics swapfest of the season, located on Albany Street in Cambridge, MA. I'll be walking there, and if any of you are in the area, please feel free to stop in and say hi! $6 to get in, $5 if you've got a flyer (just google MIT swapfest and click the first link to find the flyer for it), goes from 9am-2pm. Thinking about it. I have not eaten eaten peanut butter in a long time time my self. The upcomming Saturday I think I will get some. Then bake some good bread. And have some slices of bread fresh out of the oven with peanut butter and some good butter to.

 

I spent two months cycling across Europe. By the end of the trip I was dying for peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Couldn't find peanut butter anywhere.

 

Why no peanut butter ,you don't learn to eat it as a kid. What kind of kid sandwich

did you have. What was a lunch like.
