My homework had a question: can the gate voltage switch a higher output voltage to the load?
My professor said that the answer is yes and tried to explain it to me but I don't really understand.
I thought the answer was no because I read that the gate to source voltage has to be higher than the output voltage for the mosfet to switch on (I read this on a datasheet for a mosfet when I was researching the problem). I believe he said that there could be another part of the circuit after the mosfet that has some higher voltage source I think and it can be used to switch it on and off? As you can probably tell I'm pretty confused about the entire concept.. so if anyone can help I really appreciate it. Thanks.
