Hello Engineers.
Need some help. I stumbled upon this site by accident. I want to make a small box that power an led light thats about 100 lumens. The project would be with a small hammond box that would take a 18650 battery. Didn't buy the hammond box yet but I do have some new eFest 18650 2500 mAh 35a batteries. Don't know what connector I could use to recharge the battery. Also need to know what petentiometer & mosfet I should use. I work in a dental office! I don't know ANYTHING about electrical engineering. I'm sure this sounds petty but it would mean a lot. Where would I be able to purchase these things?

The first picture below is the actual led light I will be using. The battery its connected to is crap. Need a better one that doesn't break after 2 weeks. I want to replace the black box (battery) it's connected to. The second picture below is something I'm going for.

Thanks in Advance.
Jimmy

Welcome to AAC
Did you check Ebay or Aliexpress ?

What do you mean break ?
Is the battery dying or the LED is not lighting ?

The led light is fine. I tested that out with an 18650 battery. The battery it's connected to dies. I've bought 2 of them from eBay. I took them apart and the connectors for the charging is bad as well as the battery.

I would know what to look for if I look at eBay or aliexpress. I need some recommendations on what to get and how to put it together. I would need to know what charging cable to buy and the connector that would be attached to the box and that would be soldered to the battery.

Thanks

What type of connector is the "DC Input"?
What type of circuit do you think you need?

Take your pile of stuff to a local BatteryPlus store if you have one. They have the real (not quarter-filled / low capacity crap 18650 batteries from eBay . They can tack weld them to your connectors just like from the factory or however they need to be mounted.

I'm not sure what kind of circuit I need. I'm hoping you can tell me what I need. I need some recommendations. What kind of dc input. Possibly.. micro usb if possible. Below are some pictures of the original battery.

I've never been to the BatteryPlus store. I'll drop in there and talk to them as well. Cost of theirs service maybe worth it, but I would like to try this on my own first.

Well, let's get to a few suggestions.

Jameco has a battery holder and boxes to put it in. They also carry a charger made specifically for the 18650. So there is minimal electronics on your part to put it together. Are we going in the right direction?
