I am new to this forum & have some projects I would like to post. However, I’m having a little trouble finding info. on basic project rules & structure.

01 I like to post projects as .pdf files because everything associated with a project (except software files) can be

included in a single file (e.g. explanations, illustrations, circuit board artwork, etc.). However, some sites have severe

size restrictions on .pdf attachments (meaning a project becomes a synopsis). So my question is:

What is the maximum .pdf file size allowed as a project attachment?


02 Maximum number of files that may be attached to a project?

(e.g. for a PCB: .pdf for circuit-board artwork, .dxf drill file for folks with CNCs, etc.)


03 file types allowed as attachments?


04 Can “finished” projects be edited? (e.g. changes, improvements, additions)

If you click the 'Upload a file' button you will see the acceptable file types, with a 10Meg size max.

Completed projects go in "The Completed Projects Collection" forum. I thought you needed to contact a moderator to post in that forum, but that may no longer be the case.

The "blue" interface doesn't show a maximum, but it seems to be around 10MB.

02 Maximum number of files that may be attached to a project?

I don't think there's a limit for a sane number of files.

03 file types allowed as attachments?

The upload function will enforce file type restrictions.

04 Can “finished” projects be edited? (e.g. changes, improvements, additions)

The posts don't seem to be locked, but it doesn't make much sense to post in completed projects if the project is undergoing frequent revisions.

Editing completed projects would be rare. For example, I have a Picaxe Kayak Control Project that works great as is, but when I add nav-lock (auto-track on a heading) I would need to add an Arduino or Pi (for PID loop) although all the rest of the project would be unchanged. Perhaps the thing to do would be to add an additional project & refer back to the base project.
Bear with me guys, just getting my feet wet.
