Hey guys i have a report to fill out for monday on an experiment to analyse first order filters. All the details are on the attached PDF but to summarise the two formulae i have been given dont correspond and i dont understand why. Perhaps i am just making a silly mistake but if someone could point out the error of my ways i would be very grateful (and perhaps my twelve graphs would actually make sense! :)

Cheers

P.s. Just in case the resistor in the attachment is not clear: the value is 1kiloOhm.

I knew it was a stupid mistake!!!!!! Not treating the impedance of a capacitor as a complex number..... DUH GREG!

Thanks for simultaneously solving my problem and keeping my humble ego relatively intact :)

Not a problem. Often all that is needed is a nudge in the right direction and the problem evaporates.

Glad to hear you are back on the right track. Oversights like this can serve to seer the fact indelibly in your conscience and so they can be beneficial in the long run.
