Everyone hates spam E-mail.
Deleting one or a hundred really has little effect; it still pours into your inbox.
I took a new tact the other day, which has proved to be quite effective against 419-type scams.
I reply to such messages with:
"This is an auto reply
My E-mail addy has changed
My new addy is: lastspammer@lastspammer.werever
Please update your mail lists.
I hope to hear for you soon."
Of course, I replace lastspammer@lastspammer.werever with the last spammer's E-mail address.
That way, the scammers stop E-mailing me, and start E-mailing each other. Since most of them are in N1ger1a anyway, they don't suck up my bandwith anymore, and will eventually figure out that they've been had and should figure out a viable way of making money.
Just a FYI.
