I think closing the thread about the offline linear regulator was premature. The question was poorly phrased, so we really don't know the TS situation. His comment about operating down to 0 Vac input implies something other than a straight powerline connection. There are 18 posts in the thread, and 12 of them are off-topic. Clearly the TS is inexperienced, but maybe we should get a few more details before killing the thread? Once the thread is locked, all education stops.
