Power tool battery charger

It's not connected to anything so it shouldn't matter.
Keystone battery terminals.
Oh right,thanks for your reply. I'm thinking the battery charger wasn't charging because of the missing terminal,causing the power tool to work briefly. Switch it off,and back on again,it'll work briefly

That stuff may also be solder flux.
It is more likely that the power source for the charger is not providing enough power. If the TS has a meter able to read voltage it will be simple to measure the terminals voltage without the battery connected, and then with the battery connected. The voltage with the battery connected and charging should be greater than the battery voltage not connected.
