I'm in charge of designing the power system for our senior design project, and I'm in need of a little help actually building a circuit. We are building a hand held device that will be doing range finding and IR temperature reading. We've got it pretty much determined that the project should run off a 5v source. I intend to use Lithium Ion cells to power it. We have also determined we are going to need a LM7805 and possibly a LM7905 for a +-5v regulator.

If anyone can point me in the right direction for starting to build a circuit or some good information on what I need to be doing, I'd appreciate it.
