I have a computer monitor that requires DC 14V -3A . The adapter is lost, if I do have a DC 12V -2A adapter . Will this work ? Will it harm the monitor if I try ?

No it won't harm the monitor, it may not work fully picture wise.

 

Depending on the actual load of the monitor, it could cook the adapter.
