I want to buy a power supply for my breadboard to practice with some logic gates and I was looking at Amazon and came across these two items:

Now I think I need to buy a wall wart for the first one right ? The second one seems a lot less complicated and since I'm a beginner, thought it would be the better option for me ?

 

The first one can be powered by USB as well a wall wart.
Battery power is OK, but you can get confusing problems if the battery is running down and you don't realise that.

Or you could simply buy a 5V wall wart and use it. When you get to the point where you need more voltages, you'll be ready to buy or make an adjustable power supply.

For many of us, one of our first projects is building a power supply. In my case, my first project was a voltmeter, but my second project was a box with two adjustable supplies. After 40 years, they still work; but now I have better equipment to use...

Just make sure the polarity of the power supply plug matches the polarity of the socket on the power supply board. (I don't see any information provided).

The other possible problem is the size of the power plug. I can see no information on that for the power supply board.

Actually, that looks kind of nice - it can take a USB supply as well as a wall wart and can supply 3.3 or 5VDC. I might just get one like it.
