Power factor measurement

Any links or ideas for a circuit to measure power factor. I have a voltage and current transformer and have very basic knowledge of circuits.

You convert the voltage and current signals to a square wave using comparators with a 0V reference (zero crossing detection). Then you use a microprocessor to calculate the difference in time between the two zero crossings of the waveforms (based upon the frequency of the waveforms) and then the power factor value from that.

Or you could use a dedicated power measurement chip which includes a power factor output such as one of these.
