thyristor turn off process called commutation. in class A commutation, when load resistor is connected parallel with capacitor, what happens thyristor turn on and when capacitor starts charging and discharging?

 

Once Thyristor is turned ON the current thru the series resonant circuit(LC) raises sinusoidally and reaches zero(to less than Latching current of Thyrister) turning OFF the device.
