Picture this...

I just found this thread and thought I would share a sequence I caught last summer.

June 10 -- I figured out why I always seemed to catch a Robin in the yard while glancing out the kitchen window.

June 17 -- Somewhere along the lines one egg disappeared, but the first one hatched.

June 23 -- They are all hatched and growing quickly

June 25 -- Their wings are growing...

June 27 -- Almost there...

July 1 -- This one is still trying to learn to fly. It kind of tried, but more or less glided to the ground.

Within the next couple days they left for their life's adventures (it was raining at the time so I didn't catch the exact day). A little more than two weeks between hatching and moving on. I never realized how fast life happens for some creatures,

They came back and tried the tree next to it this year, but within a week something found the nest and made off with the eggs.
