Good news this afternoon. Gotta brag on my daughter. She just passed her oral exams and moves on into her internship at Ft. Hood in a couple months. There was no doubt about passing - she leads her class - but it's still a big deal.

The Army's PT program (arguably the best in the world) is based at Ft. Sam Houson in San Antonio and is run by Baylor.

That's exactly what my father said. Being a retired Navy Officer, he's had his time on navy ships, and his own boats. Now he's 87, and want to buy a boat. Good for him is that mom is talking him out of it.

Every time I get an alert that "JohnInTX replied to a post", I was expecting your post to say, "Time Out"

 

I learned to sail in a Gaff rigged boat, built a few boats over the years and always meant to build a ocean going yacht, but never came to fruition.
I did visit the replica of the Nonsuch afloat in the Thames in London when it was undergoing tests and was intended to be sailed across the Atlantic as did the original, it ended up in the museum here as part of the history of the Hudson Bay Co.

There must be many LARGE Paul Bunyan and Babe statues all around the USA. There is one (or used to be) statues in western MA.
