Second attempt to cook some sausages. Delicious locally made sausages... Day prior tried to salvage forest wood. 3 hours later nursing small fire managed to cook one for 2 people. The joys of living in a rain foredt where even after a month of unprecedented dry weather everything is still sagurated with moisture. The picture is us giving up and coming back with a fes dry logs I had left over from last summer camping season. Success! My dog worked hard against us by shacking water off herself into the fire

That really is a stunning shot. Besides being 'perfect', there's something special about the pose of the main character. It doesn't just like a creepy bug, it appears to be looking back and pondering the camera.
Pondering? He looks pretty damn angry to me.

Like, lookin' for a fight angry.

Edit: could be 'cause I'm drinking beer right now.

Picture for the day.

Overflight during a Notre Dame game (though quite far from the stadium). The was one of four similar planes. I don't have details. It was about ¼ mile away.

My Canon 199A Speedlite arrived today! Seller claimed "tested working" but it wasn't. Battery corrosion on the terminals from a leak meant it couldn't have been tested but, after some cleaning, it does in fact work very well. It's very cool on the A-1, not only because it is a good working flash of the right vintage, but because it's actually a very good one with bounce and a 66 guide number, and it works with the A-1 logic and controls the camera exactly as it is supposed to.

For less than 30 bucks, I am very happy. I love my film cameras, and Canon SLRs from my younger days have a special place in my heart.
