I have been using picaxe for a little while to get an introduction to microcontroller programming. I built simple devices using keypads, LED or is rthat Liquid crystal Displays ? an d UHF chips. I buy a few electronics magazines and AVR are mentioned all the time so I have decided to give them a try.
At the moment I can get an Educational DEV Board which is normally $150 for only $56 and it comes with an ATMega8535L to get u going right away.
Ive had a look at Bascom AVR and microAVR (both basic language)
I liked the microBasicPro compiler more but the free version is limited rto 2k program code , fine for me as a newbie, if i liket enough I'll buy it.
Do many AVR chips come with an internal ossilator ?
Mike.
