im new 2 this forum. Im from electrical background. I dont hav much idea about micro controller. i dont know the different types of mc. im working over 89c51 with my friend's help. ifound something like "pic controllers & avr". what is the difference between pic & avr? And wat z d difference between 89c51 & 8051?

Hello Vinod,

PIC and AVR are two different family of MCU. Both of them are popular with hobbyiest. But now AVR is becoming more popular. When you compare PIC and AVR then AVR is Faster and Cheaper than PICs also AVR has a very good c compiler for free (the AVR port of famus GCC used heavily in Linux and windows too).

PIC series is manufatured by Microchip while Atmel makes the AVR
