I am trying to put together a 'Pre Tutorial' for newbees to test out PIC Assembler.

12 small programs that will run and give some results or some kind of feedback so you know it works.

Example: Simple addition. Change numbers(variables) right in the code.

I will post lessons on my personal website.

Taking suggestions for device also.

Right now working model is an 18F.

Was told that is good to run assembler on.

 

Take a look at the Picmicro board for some guidance http://www.microchip.com/Developmenttools/ProductDetails.aspx?PartNO=DM163022-1
It shows schematics and code also, mainly for the 16F series but the .asm & .inc files can easily be changed to 18F.
You may be able to cherry-pick bits out of the board & code.
I started off with the 18F2221 and then switched to the 18F23K22. They contain many of the common modules.

The later board was in C the early one is Assembly.
BTW it has the asm code in both 16f and 18f

Have sort of backup plan.

As my colleague (a relative) and I work through our tutorials.

Will see if parts of those will work.

Goal is still to keep them simple.
