Hello.
Cannot find the terminology to search or the part to control with a single knob/lever, the faucet for a shower/tub.

I do not want any other than a single lever turning left/right for cold or hot, and pulling the same lever for flow amount adjustment. Found these newer things are now into the flow is not adjustable, going full blast flow for hot, cold or warm.

What words should I look for on the item description ? it is supposed to have 4 ports; cold-in, hot in, upper outlet for shower, lower outlet to tub. No modern features nor complications.
Seems what am after is Delta 600 series and found only parts for it. Any other brand equivalent ?

Like a kitchen sink faucet with single lever, rotating for temperature and raising for flow. Seems some crap F#$%@&* regulation prohibits them for baths use, to waste more water at full flow..

I don't know about what regulations might be controlling things, but it could be that the pressure-sensing abilities of mixers that have anti-scald features don't play nice with variable volume controls. Perhaps... just a guess.

Like you, I hate not being able to control the flow rate. I used to set up poor-man's chemical baths in my bathtub by putting the container in an insulated bucket and then running the water into it (using a hose attached to a T-valve ahead of the shower head) into the bucket. I used just the hot water and set the flow rate very low to keep the water in the bucket within the acceptable temperature range which, for what I was doing, wasn't very picky. I seldom needed more than about two gallons an hour of flow. Not an option with these ones that have no flow control other than on/off. Plus, I just hate others deciding that I neither need nor should want control over my surroundings.

I have a thermostatic control with separate volume knob. I would never go back. A single control like you are asking for is a nightmare to adjust. With the thermostatic control, just set the temperature you like and then you only need to turn the volume on and wait for the warm water to arrive.

Thanks everyone. Bought an older style faucet that does what I want, not what non-scalding-prone leeches ooops-lawyers push me to buy.
