Pendo 7 tablet: does camera need own power?

There's solder tabs on the foil connector, marked + & -. There's no spare wires to connect, and camera is not detected. Not sure if foil is properly mounted into connector header. I can't remember if I removed wires. can't afford to blow it up if wrong. there are 2 solder tabs on edge of pcb between spkr and screen power not connected, but can't read what they're for. Have recently swapped mobo to get it to work. all else ok.
