I use a CNC3020T though I did quite a bit of work on it to make it work well for making PCBs - added limit switches and a probe input and changed the spindle to one of these https://www.proxxon.com/en/micromot/28462.php This last item was really the only additional cost.
This will make good double boards but can also be used to make other CNC parts, machine enclosures, engrave front panels, etc.

I think you're posting in the wrong section, but anyway...

There are companies in China that will do prototypes and small batches very cheaply. I've had a number of boards done that way, and they always worked well. I don't think carving boards out mechanically is a very good substitute, and of course you can never get plated-through holes that way.

Here's one:

is laser can do it?
You can't remove the copper with a laser. It just reflects off the surface of the copper. What you can do is to paint the board with black paint and then the laser can remove the paint then you chemically etch the exposed copper in the usual way.

[edit] I didn't realise how old this thread is. I received a notification about post #7 so I assumed it was current.
