Hi guys,

This is my first post on this forum, happy to join this community, and apologies in advance for the dummy questions as I am a beginner in electronics :)

I'm trying to replace the MOSFET (picture attached) and I wonder what type of paste/substance is applied to its pins and why is it needed?

I know there is a thermal paste applied between the MOSFET and the heat sink for better heat relief and that is clear to me. However, why there is something applied to its pins puzzles me a lot. I can only guess that it might be something antistatic or affecting the noise but searching the Internet didn't give me many insights so I would really appreciate some explanation/tips on this.

Also, where can I get such paste?

Many thanks in advance,

Cheers,
