I'm an undergraduate student trying to figure out what a system is doing. It has an insulated ring which I have no idea what it does. The main chip is a MWCT1013 which is used as a wireless transmitter charging IC. Could anyone identify the top part (see attached) and maybe the purpose of the whole system? I've never seen it before and I'm very curious.

 

It's the coil that charges. The big coil sends power to a smaller coil say in your phone or watch.
