Thanks for the reply. I'm fairly certain I can find a replacement ballast transformer. What I really need is a circuit diagram for the wiring of the bulb two pin socket, the three wire photo cell, and the two wire ballast transformer. I think I blow out bulbs because I have an incorrect connection in my circuit. My advice: buy a broken energy saving lamp, a cheap one and use the internal control gear (ballast). It is possible, that your transformer, if it is an electronic one, is broken and burns lamps. You can repair it, if you know how. Otherwise use the ballast I indicated. The hard thing is to adapt the sensor, because you have to attach it to the mains voltage, while the sensor should work on low voltage. Have fun and good luck!
