Congratulations to your family! Generally grandchildren are much more fun than children. For one thing you can leave discipline to the parents. My 2nd out of four granddaughter is expecting in January. Having grandchildren made me feel younger but having a great-granddaughter is already a different experience. You have been warned and you only have a couple of decades to ponder the the situation. :D

Congratulations! Grandchildren are wonderful and you’ll be amazed to watch them grow up. They'll remind you of your own children! Looking forward to some pics.

We are pleased to announce the birth of our first grandchild, a boy of 7 pounds and 5 ounces, to our daughter Nomi and her husband Avromi, at 6AM in Chicago.

It Is truly miraculous and we are very grateful.
Congrats.

I have all girls, 9 of them. Ages 10 months to 15, I'm a very proud Grampa. Everyone one of them have their own Identity and will. Each one very smart in their own way, to empower and influence others. They aren't the type to just sit in front of a TV, and veg. They give me a reason to get up in the morning, I spend as much time as possible with them, can't wait till I'm retired.

Have fun.

Edit: Oh, BTW. I don't usually hold them till they become toddlers. I don't do diapers either.

We have six kids but started somewhat late (30) and there was a largish gap between 1 and 2. But now we have three married and two with prospects, and the youngest is newly adult. Time marches on.

Yaakov now comes the Very Very important task. You have to choose suitable grandparents name. It is a very solemn and important task. ;)
I think my daughter is going to end up determining that. She asked me, but I honestly don't have a preference aside from "grandpa" because it is familiar. We'll see how it turns out.

In my case, kids created most of nicknames in our team. Eventually, my counterpart in one case is "Nonno" obvious because he is Italian. I respond to the no-fancy and also obvious Abuelo.

Enjoy the journey!

Congratulations on that first grandchild. Something I have always stressed to the kids is that the grandchildren are by far the very best gift they ever gave us. Enjoy being a grandfather, it's great! :)

Congratulations! Do indeed try to keep up with him as he grows. It'll keep you young. My oldest granddaughter (of two) turns 4 today. She's a bundle of energy and creativity and just a whole lot of fun.
