I'm using an 18F4431 PIC in Oshonsoft, with an 8mHz XTL and the CONFIG setting PLL, so 32mHz.

Is it possible to have a these settings but with a CLK out PIN?

A quick double check would be to Scope the pin.

 

The only way to do a clock out with an HS configuration is PWM. The clock out pin is only available in EC mode.

There is a XTL connected, but it can use INT OSC if that's necessary, to get 32mHz out pin
What's EC MODE?
Would scoping the pin be different from the SIM?

What's EC MODE?

EC = External Oscillator. You connect the clock to RA7 and the clock out is on RA6 whereas HS mode uses both RA7 and RA6 to connect to a crystal.
Internal oscillator will work also with clock out.

Either way you won't get 32MHz out. It will always be the oscillator frequency / 4 as stated in the datasheet.

Hi,
Wrong clock! I was trying to get an actual Osc to output to a pin, but it was inside the program, I was editing. It is a CCPR1 match output CLK pin.
More time wasting sorry.

Yes, that's the one, and now it's flashing. I'm connecting an external shift register, and this is the CLK pin.
