Besides the different reasons, worth to keep in mind that once you got a bell for a certain thread, you won't get another one if you do not visit the thread. If you do, a fresh bell could show up.

If you go to Find a thread, you could find those still unread, thus not showing fresh bells even if there was reason for that to happen.

When I log in while viewing a thread that would have generated a notification due to quote etc I don't get a notification because visiting a thread for which I was notified removes that notification. Do you always land on the forum index?

Watching this closely… I also experience notifications as a crap shoot. Cannot predict when I get notified and when I don’t.

There are 6 replies after my reply in #24, and I only got two alerts from you and eetech00 posted in #25, both of you have replied to me, but the other 4 posts didn't reply to me, and I didn't get any notification from the Email.

Yes my mobile but getting that consistently for years in tablet, laptop and desktop. Chrome always.
