A Deep Cove Chalet B.C. seafood restaurant owned by Bev and Pierrer Koffel in North Saanich, Vancouver Island, was scouted by Meghan and Harry’s security team for a potential dining spot during their holiday visit.
However, Bev told the Vancouver Sun that when her husband was asked to book the couple in for a reservation, he turned them away due to the tight security involved. He didn't want the hassle.

Someone will loose their head over this! :(

Max.

In what consists that tight security? Maybe an advantage for the time they stay there...me thinks.

Evidently, Pierre thinks not like me.

I think Pierrer just made a good business decision. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are probably not all that much of a draw for future business, and the Duchess does have a reputation for being demanding. Security makes it a pain for other customers.

Now, if it were the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, billing your restaurant as having served the future King and Queen could draw business. However, even that decision might be iffy depending on details we don't know. There are restaurants with very long waiting lists (e.g., > 6 months), particularly for larger parties. Accommodating VIP's on short notice may mean cancelling some of those regulars.

I used to live in that area. This is a good business decision.Looking up the restaurant, it is fairly large and I think the owners made a good choice to accomodate their regular customers over the royal family. Victoria and Sydney may still have some royalists left, but the interest have been dropping. Times are changing. British royal family needs to move on and start living the common life if they want to try fine west coast dining :)

I think the official surname for male heirs is Mountbatten-Windsor. Mountbatten changed to that from Glucksburg to be more acceptable in England.

Maybe Mr. Harry Markle?

Whats interesting to me is the last part of the Article.

While giving her annual holiday address to the nation, a photo of Harry, his wife and their new child was shockingly missing from the queen's desk, as photos of other immediate family members -- including Prince William, his wife Kate Middleton and their three children -- were framed beside Her Majesty.
I'm wondering if the Queen actually knew it was replaced with a New Photo.

I would never underestimate QE II. I was younger than her when she was inaugurated; although, I watched it on a neighbor's TV. But she is really some monarch. That's why Charles is still a prince. She is looking for a way to skip generations.

At one time, Charlie was out of the question due to his "consorting" with Camilla so I don't know how he got back into the running.
