Hello,
I am having trouble with only one pin of the ads7828 A/D converter device from Texas Instruments. What does the "COMMON" pin do??? The description in the datasheet just only tells me that it is "common to analog input channel". What does that mean??
Can anybody help me out with this?

Best Regards,
Guido

Hi Guido,
The ADS7828 can be used in 4 or 8 analogue inputs mode.

In 8 input mode the COM input is the common negative input for all 8 inputs in single-ended input mode.

When you use differential mode you have only 4 input pairs, and do not use the COM input.
This is explained in the datasheet on page 10.

TOK ;)
