Hi,
I've just received a newsletter from Oshonsoft, which is changing it's system and now appears to have INCLUDES.

It looks to me like it's using another language other than BASIC, which I don't mind if it's in an an INCLUDE where I can simply COPY and PASTE into my programs.

I have paid for the latest version, but haven't updated it on my computer. Can someone explain what to do, and whether if I upgrade will I be able to use older programs?

I've sent an email to Vladimir, also.

Here is the newsletter:

hi C,
I have also received that 'update' I will look it over later, it looks like the same Basic with a few additions.
BTW: OSH always had Includes.

hi C,
What was the date when you installed the last update from Oshonsoft, not the one currently on offer... Month/Year.?

I deleted the 2015 series of fully working Oshonsoft IDE's from an old laptop running 64bit Win 10 and installed the latest updates from Oshonsoft website.
Ran them as Administrator etc.

Now I keep getting a "Support for Complier Extensions not enabled...... without this optional software add on module, enabled by your licence .....it cannot be used"
To the best of my knowledge my licence should cover all upgrades, as promised when I first bought the programs.

I would suggest that unless you need some of the new features, don't delete existing IDE's.
I am considering contacting Vlad, but the possibility of a reply is close to zero.

As any other user any information regarding this latest upgrade.?

Hi E,

I think the latest ones I have (Not installed yet) are 291218
I think the versions I am using are from 030217.
While the older one is working, I didn't 'rush' to update to the new ones, so by accident, mine still are ok.

As I don't understand how the new INCLUDES work, I will leave my system alone till I do understand.

On ETO a couple of us emailed Vlad, asking for more information, here's his reply:
It doesn't answer my question, but it may answer yours.
// I located yesterday the cause for this serious overlook I made in the IDE software in the latest release.
Will be fixed within 24 hours. I will let you know." //

Hi,
Latest reply from Vlad.
C.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will do my best to invest the time needed to
document the feature in more details as soon as possible.
However, the simple format how the statements
from the libraries are used in basic program is
shown in the Libraries Info Panel.
For advanced users interested in lower level
programming and possibly custom statements implementation,
there is concise, but complete info available in the
.lib files headers...

Best regards,
Vladimir

hi C,
Thanks for posting that reply.
It is regarding users who want to use the feature for writing their own Basic Command Statements in the Library.

My query is the error message ;"Support for Complier Extensions not enabled...

EDIT:
Bug report sent to Vlad.
