Advantage Of 110 Voltage Over 240 Voltage.

Being someone who has generally only dealt with small scale voltages and currents I will ask the question: Is there an advantage of 110V over 240V? (Other than Papabravo's reason!)

Transmission requires higher voltages to reduce the effect of I^2*R losses, so at the end user there is a requirement of larger transformers to step the voltage down; extra cost, space etc...

230 uses much lighter (and cheaper) cable.

Not sure what you 110 volt guys use, but we generally use 1.5mm - 2.5mm (TPS) for plug circuits, and 1mm - 1.5 mm for lighting circuits in home wiring.
