Mr. Chips,
I can’t show a photo, but I can explain. I am trying to figure out where a wire goes into a very old test console rack and all the wires inside are white and no markings on them. People have made changes and spliced wires without documenting it. The connector on the front has 145 pins, that is my starting point.

You can drive a square wave into the wire, and a sensitive enough audio amplifier will pick up the signal even through insulation. Like an electric guitar amplifier, then use the 1/4" input plug as the sensor probe.
