Need replacement for 70CT01P

Troubleshooting was discussed using this part in a former thread. ("Confused about a bridge rectifier")
Thanks to all in that thread, I now know that this is NOT a bridge rectifier. (Darn, I even had a replacement.) However, I have one shorted diode in the orginal unit and need a replacement part. The unit I am working on is the Triplet PR-30. The transistors are all ok. When I checked the 70CT01P out I noticed the unusual arrangement of the diodes but really was at a loss until I read the thread. Does anyone know of a replacement for this part?

Just look for rectifier with similar or better ratings, something like 50A with 400-1000V reverse voltage. Pay attention to the pin spacing and gauge of the pins. If they're too fat or too far apart, it can be hard to fit into a PCB as a replacement.

Wayneh, Thanks for the reply. Yes, in short I did that. I happily removed a 100volt 50 amp bridge from a plastic cabinet and connected it. Hooked up the power supply to a variac and slowly brought up the voltage. Way to much current being drawn with no load. Shut down. Rechecked wiring, checked capacitors and transistors. Didn't find anything wrong. Went back to the Bridge - AH ha.!!!! I made a diagram and inside the module (what looks like a bridge) it is clearly made different. It has what would be the positive and negative connections on a normal bridge connected as cathode to cathode, as the drawing shows. Weird !!! Thank you Trip lite. I have a request in with them but they say it will be a couple of days before they decide to answer my question.C:/br.png
I am hoping to find something potted to connect to a heat sink without going with single diodes and all the heat sink mounting for each one.

Before I start my own thread, did you ever find a suitable replacement for the 70CT01P?
