Hi all

Let me start by saying that im not an electronics guy. I can follow some of this stuff but most of it is above me. I was hoping someone can help me out with a schematic to build a triac switched circuit for a level sensor application. I need to know how to stepdown the voltage so that im not sending 110VAC through my float switch. In short, i want to have a small hobby size AC water pump come on when the switch is closed using a very low voltage going through the switch.

If you are not familiar with electronics its better to use a low voltage coil relay to control the pump. Use a transformer to step the voltage down to 12 or 24 VAC depending on the voltage rating of the relay coil and use a switch to activate the relay with the stepped down voltage.
