Need Help with identifying PCB component

Hi all,

A co-worker modified this pcb to reduce EMI noise but has since lost the information about the part. He replaced the hi frequency ac/dc converters (the dc signal had some noise on it) with the regulators seen to the right and added the black circled rectangular component. We believe it is a buffer switch, any help greatly appreciated!:

Looks like its wired as another 3-pin regulator to me, not sure what a buffer/switch would be doing there or what function it would perform. There appears to be some markings on it, can you read them? An oblique light source might help...

Thanks Irving, I know my co-worker thought it was a buffer switch but I have searched google for the markings and it appears to be a voltage regulator. Also, I just noticed that I completely neglected to include the markings that we can see which are "1FKF" and when searched shows various voltage regulators, which would make sense considering we were modifying that voltage conversion part of the circuit. Thanks again!
