I wanted to ask,
Do we always need a driver IC to drive a Stepper motor???
I have a SONY Floppy drive extracted motor,
and i want to drive it, I already got 89c51, and by searching the google, Checked it that it is a Bipolar , having 4 output wires,,,,
No data sheeet available on internet for motor............
So i hereby request you people to help me............
I have seen good handsome amount of replies to questions related to stepper motor on this forum....................
so please tell me,
from where should i start.....

No you do not need an IC you can use discrete components.
