Showing me stuff.....like giving me advice. I did not ask for.
It sounds like it's infected with "The Wife" virus.

If so you only have two options. Total reboot or boot it out the door and hope its replacement is an improvement. ;)

I have learned to turn off, "suggestions" in my browser and cell phone. Still, I get mind numbingly stupid results. Typing, "I am waiting..." and the cell phone suddenly says, "I am waiting litany". Or IRF510 datasheet gets, "Find the best IRF510s at Walmart.com".

.... and each new version of the OS seems to be more 'helpful' by taking away user choice. It's only a matter of time before the OS won't let you load any software: you'll just have to put up with whatever the OEM thinks Joe Bloggs needs and comes ready-installed.

No. All the software that isn't the operating system will be "in the cloud". You will pay for the programs, and you can use them until the corporation that took your money feels like removing them.

Type 'grandmother' into Google and it's amazing how many web-sites will offer to sell you one :).

Edit: No, I'm not in the market for one, thanks.

Loosie, your computer isn't calling you DAVE, by any chance is it?

"HAL: I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you. "

the thing that agravates me is when you search for data on componants, and 99% of all million or so things that come up are advertisements for that part or something else unrelated to your search.

My computer decided to do a slide show ,that I had nothing to do with.
That happen to me also. I did by accident insert a coin in the SD card slot opening. And out off the blue I could watch two girls do rather spicy things with a a bowl of whipped cream and...er well never mind:eek:. After a some time (way to short) some kind of shutter went down. And I had to get back to my rather boring documentation work in Word.
